Children, youth, and young adults are an essential part of our community!

We strive to share the love of God with infants, children, teens, young adults, and their families—not only through worship and traditional ministries but also through non-religious programming meant to meet a gap for families in our community, like our Summer Day Camp and New Parent Support Group. We know that just by their presence, young people share God’s presence with us in new and unique ways.

See what we’ve been up to!

Young Adult Group

Our young adult group is for our friends between about 20 and 30. It includes single folks and young couples, working professionals and graduate and undergraduate students, those who grew up in a church and those who are new to it, South Bend natives and transplants from all over the world. Join us for our monthly Young Adult Brunch! We also have seasonal service opportunities, fellowship gatherings, and educational events tailored to the unique wonderings of this phase of life. Young adults are also integrated into every aspect of our church, from choir and bell choir, to the soup kitchen, to missions work, to serving as worship leaders.

Youth Group

Kids in 5th-12th grade are invited to be a part of our Youth Group. We meet on Sunday evenings 6:00-7:30 PM. We take time to socialize and play (foosball anyone?!), catch up with one another, and then learn about a faith-based topic generated by the group’s interest. Opportunities for service and trips are available seasonally.

Summer Day Camp

Our Summer Day Camp is open to all families in our community. For one week in July, our church is packed with kids who get to participate in music, recreation, storytelling, crafts, and special presentations from local organizations like The Civic Theatre and St. Joseph County Public Library. We hire high school students to work as counselors and also rely on the generosity of church and community members to volunteer and donate in support of this much-needed program. 2024’s Camp will be July 8-12! See below or click here to register. Click here to donate and write “Day Camp” in the memo line.

New Parent Group

The New Parent Group welcomes parents of infants and toddlers and their partners for a monthly time of connection, reflection, and support. We spend time socializing with our littles and one another, take a moment to reflect on recent parenting experiences, share resources, and sometimes even explore an educational topic, like using play to track developmental milestones or learning about safe sleep habits. Older siblings are also welcome to attend the group. This is a completely free group and is non-religious in content. Join us every 2nd Sunday at 9 AM on the 2nd floor. Enter through the doors off the parking lot on Lafayette Street and take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor.

The Prayground

The Prayground is a space at the front right corner of the sanctuary designed especially for children four and under. It includes toys, books, floor mats for infants, and coloring and activities that can help keep littles occupied while their grownups get to focus a little more on worship. It also includes a nook for nursing or bottle-feeding parents to be able to feed babies privately. Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship, and this space can help them feel right at home!
