Make some music!

Music ministries are a long-standing tradition at First and Northwest UMC

Our Choir

The choir at First and Northwest UMC is a small and talented group of singers who meet every Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 PM in the music room. They are dedicated to creating beautiful and uplifting music that brings people together and honors our faith. The repertoire includes a wide range of styles, from traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs, and they welcome singers of all abilities and backgrounds. Whether you’re an experienced singer or are just starting out, you’ll find a supportive and inclusive community in our choir. Come to a rehearsal and see for yourself.

Handbell Choir

The First and Northwest UMC Handbell Choir is a welcoming group of musicians that meets every other Sunday after the worship service and provides beautiful, uplifting music during church services. Handbell choirs are a unique and exciting way to enhance worship, and no experience is necessary to participate. The handbell choir is open to all members of the church community, regardless of musical experience. No prior knowledge of handbells is necessary - just a desire to learn and make a joyful noise to the Lord.

Celtic Music

First and Northwest UMC is blessed every Sunday by the musical talents of our Celtic musicians, joHn Kennedy and Chris O’Brien. joHn and Chris have been making music with and for the our church community for more than a decade. They bring a little bit of their band’s—Kennedy’s Kitchen—traditional Irish sound with them on fiddle, bouzouki, Irish flute, Irish whistles, tenor banjo, and the bodhran, and they love to sing.
